Cocktail Friday: a Cosmopolitan

This Cocktail Friday’s cocktail became famous when Carrie Bradshaw started drinking this cocktail in Sex and the City. I watched a lot of episodes from Sex and the City, but it never made me drink a Cosmopolitan, which I regret now, because this cocktail is a goooooooood!!!  It’s fresh because of the lime and sweet by the Cranberry. Hotspot: Restaurant Elements, Cala Benirras Ibiza

On Ibiza you have so many nice restaurants, some in the little villages or in Eivissa city and some on the beach. When we visited Cala Benirras, to see the famous drum players (see my blog about the drum players on Goodlives), we were too early. We thought too early in the season, but later we found out too early for sunset;-). So we decided to have some dinner on the beach at restaurant Elements. Read further about this restaurant.

Sunday Smoothie: Tomato mix with pepper

We had a great weekend, on Friday and Saturday night we went to a festival called “Parkfeest Oosterhout”. Most artists on the festival are Dutch. Friday night was with cover bands and as closing act a couple of Dj’s with a 80’s – 90’s program. Yesterday was with Di-rect and Raccoon. You see them on every festival in Holland during summer, but who cares. Music isn’t the most important thing of the festival for me. With this “parkfeest” you always bump into old friends or people you haven’t seen for a while. The other side of a weekend like this is, that most of the time we don’t sleep enough, and during the day I feel my energy levels dive south;-). I can drink some coffee then, but today I combined it with the Smoothie Sunday, but then with a tomato mix . Read more about the energy boost.

Oatmeal cookies with cheese and basil

A couple of weeks ago Larsman had chicken-pox. One of the tips they gave us was to put him in a bath with oatmeal. We did that trick, but only once. So we had a lot of oatmeal left. The monday after the bath I came home and M. surprised me with oatmeal cookies. He found a recipe on the internet with banana in it. The cookies tasted really nice, the only thing was that they were not crispy.
A week after M. baked the cookies I saw on Instagram that Pauline from uitpaulineskeuken baked these nice oatmeal cookies with cheese. So I asked here if her cookies are crispy, and she said yes, they are. Time to try the recipe,

Sunday Smoothie: Mango Pineapple Strawberry

I could really use a good smoothie this morning. We went out for dinner last night with good friends. We went to a Japanese-all-you-can-eat-concept restaurant, called Asuka. The concept is simple and you always eat too much (oeps in this way I will never loose that extra kg which is still there from Ibiza;-). But the food is fine. I ate some Sushi, Sashimi and a lot of beef and chicken. The concept is nice because all 4 of us ordered what we like and we shared the different food with each other.
As usual we said to each other that we won’t make it too late this evening. Haha well like all the other times it didn’t work, because after leaving the restaurant, the first thing M. said was: some more drinks in another bar? haha off course we did. So too late in bed, a little bit too much alcohol and you could definitely use this Mango Pineapple Strawberry Smoothie. Read more about te recipe.

Cocktail Friday: a Pina Colada

It’s weeeeeeeeeekend and Cocktail Friday again. This time I have chosen a Pina Colada .
I love those Pina Coladas! And not the ready made Pina Coladas out of a bottle, but selfmade Pina Cola. When I’m writing this blog, I’m zipping on the Pina Cola that I just photographed for this Blog post. Normally we always pretaste the cocktails the night before Cocktail Friday, but yesterday we were very busy with working on my atelier. So I had to taste this one on my own tonight. But this is a golden oldie for us, so I know allready that this one is one of M.’s favourites too. Read more for the Recipe.

Little pies with green asparagus, Hollandaise sauce and (quail) egg

Last year we had to make the starter for the Kiwanis OLUM diner. M. just became a member of Kiwanis Oosterhout, so a good way to meet the members of this group. The Olum diner is the same as a Dinner en Route. With a Dinner en Route, the whole group is separated into smaller groups. With this dinner we have three courses (starter, main course and dessert). With every course the groups change and also the places where you have your course are different. And with every course another couple cooks a course.
We choose  to make little pies with green asparagus with hollandaise sauce and quail eggs. Read further for the recipe.

Sunday Smoothie: Spinach Pear Banana Celery

Until now I only made fruit smoothies, so I thought it is time to make a green smoothie for Sunday Smoothie, a Spinach Pear Banana Celery Smoothie. Green Smoothies have beside fruit also vegetables. So Green smoothies can give you even more vitamines, fibers and minerals. I also did a search on the internet for a couple of blenders. Read further for the recipe and the blenders.

Cocktail Friday: a Caribbean Blue

Yesssssss it’s Cocktail Friday again, that means the weekend is about to start.
Last Monday we came back from our super vacation in Ibiza with M.’s family. We really had a great time, visited nice places, eating a lot of good food and enjoying a lot of Sangria;-).
Next couple of weeks I will write some blogs about the food hotspots we visited in Ibiza. In the meantime you can read on cakes and Pumps the review that I wrote about the house la Primavera we stayed in. The article was a little bit more work then I expected, so no food blog appeared on Cakes and Pumps this week.
But I try to make it up to you with this nice Blue cocktail, a Caribbean Blue, find the recipe below.
