New project Sophie’s Universe

For months I have the book from the Cal Sophie’s Universe on my shelves. It’s such a beautiful blanket, I just couldn’t wait to start with it. But first I needed to finish my Study and I was still knitting on a few other projects. My Study is finished now and the other projects are far finished, so started thinking about the materials that I wanted to use.

Easter: DIY bowl with easter bunny for the little easter eggs

Are you also enjoying the second easter day? Or don’t you have a second easter day? I love it that extra day. For us it’s more an extra vacation day, so we can work in the house or go outside if the weather is good. And of course we eat too much, for example all the chocolate eggs in this small bowl ;-). No just kidding, they’re not finished yet. Since it’s already second easter day it’s a little bit late for an easter DIY, but I still wanted to share it with you. Otherwise I have to wait a year and you can also use the idea for other opportunities. With other dolls, animals or statues you can give it a complete other look and feeling.

Knitting a beige cable blanket (DIY)

With spring coming in a few weeks, there will be lovely days to sit outside. In the beginning it will be a little bit cold in the evenings, so a nice blanket will give you some warmth. With this in my mind, I started knitting a lovely cable blanket.

Easter: Coloring easter eggs in black and white (DIY)

For a few years I had the idea in my head to make some nice Easter eggs, by coloring them black and white. I want to use plastic eggs for it, so I can use them for a couple of years as decoration for Easter. On Pinterest I saw sometimes beautiful eggs, but some are way too difficult to make for me. And most of the time I didn’t have time to make the DIY because I always had something to do for my study. But since I graduated I have a lot more time on my hands for my Blog. So with Easter coming soon in about three weeks from now, I finally started with coloring the eggs like I had in mind.

Mono Japan 2018 – Japanese Craft and design exhibition

Yesterday we went to Mono Japan, a little exhibition with Japanese craft, design and art. The exhibition is held from 15 Februari until 19 Februari 2018 in the Lloyd Hotel & Cultural Embassy in Amsterdam, of which the 19th is on invitation only. We thought we could go quick on Friday around 13.00, but that was a little problem. We were already a little late and right before the bridge of Gorinchem we stood still for more than an hour. An accident has happened on the bridge and a little bit further on the A27 there was also an accident. But after 1,5 hour delay we finally arrived at the Lloyd hotel.

Finally graduated for the Master in Controlling

!!Waiting for translation!!

A Gin Tonic with Bobby’s gin for Cocktail Friday

So it’s a long time since I wrote a blogpost for Cocktail Friday. The last post for Cocktail Friday was in Suriname, a Rum Cola. Time to try a new cocktail. And since it’s friday today, and I was up for a little cocktail, I tried a Gin Tonic.

Some time ago we were having dinner at ‘t Weeshuys in Geertruidenberg and we drank this delicious cocktail with Bobby’s gin for the first time. If we go out, I love to try new Gin’s, because you don’t have to buy a whole bottle at once and I can get some inspiration for decorating my G&T’s. With this Gin we were both so enthusiastic, that I bought the ingredients immediately online when I got home.

Pop’s place, where you can eat delicious local food in Curacao

Driving around on Curacao with a friend of us, he gave us the tip to have lunch or dinner at Pop’s place. He knows that we like Surinamese food, so he thought that we would like the food from Curacao too. On the 2nd of January we went to the restaurant to see of they were open, but they were not. Two days later they were open, so we went there to have lunch.

Fish restaurant Purunchi Koredor Curacao

The pro of having family on the island is that they take you sometimes to the nicest places and restaurants of the island. Last week the niece of Martin’s mother brought us to some great beaches on the western side of the island. Last Saturday we went with her to a really nice fish restaurant in Willemstad, named Purunchi Koredor.
